At the moment, Apple device owners are still waiting for the public release of iOS 8, but a new sighting suggests that Apple now has a launch date for iOS 9, or the date when Apple will be unveiling iOS 9 for the first time ahead of its actual release.
A look at the Moscone Center website shows that a “corporate event” is scheduled from June 8 to June 12, 2015. It’s not specified what type of event is going to be held at the venue on those dates, but the one major event that typically takes place at the Moscone Center in early June is the Worldwide Developers Conference. As Apple also uses the Moscone Center as its venue for larger press briefings, there’s a very good chance the WWDC 2015 expo will be held from June 8 through June 12, with the iOS 9 launch date taking place on the 8th.
The WWDC keynote, of course, should take place on the first day of the expo, and that should include an iOS 9 reveal. That’s how things have been for the past few years, and aside from that, Apple may also announce a new version of OS X during that keynote. As OS X Yosemite proved to be a huge upgrade over the previous version, it’s possible that the next iteration may be quite similar to the previous, but with a handful of new features baked in.
